Herbert Allison, 87
Herbert Guy Allison, 87, formerly of Killbuck, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 10, 2003, at Sunset View Nursing Home, Millersburg. He was born Aug. 15, 1916, in Holmes County to Ernest W. and Goldie (Dempsy) Allison, He married Marjorie Mae Mackey on Feb. 8, 1936. She passed away on Jan. 3, 1982. He was retired from Briar Hill Stone and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by two sons, Robert James (Ruth Ann) Allison of Millersburg and Jerry Dwight (Judy) Allison of Killbuck. Another son, Jack Lee Allison passed away June 3, 1984. Also surviving are six grandsons, one granddaughter, eight great - grandsons, six great - granddaughters, one great-great-grandson, one step-grandson, two step-great-granddaughters, three step-great-grandsons, and one step-great-great-granddaughter. He was a life member of Killbuck United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and his two cats, Tommie and Tillie. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, two brothers, one sister and his parents. Graveside services were Saturday, Sept. 13 at Killbuck Cemetery with Pastor Jim Cooper presiding. Military rites were conducted by the Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, handled arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Wayne County or Killbuck United Methodist Church of a charity of the donor's choice.
