Alice married James Lester Avis on 01 Jun 1931 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized at the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Alice was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was known as an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons for many years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and was a vice captain of the Waterbury Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
At the time of her death, Alice was 76 years, 2 months and 8 days old.
She was survived by her children; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and father, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on the evening of 13 Jan 1989 at the Mackay Cottonwood Mortuary. Visitation was also held for an hour prior to noon services the following day. The funeral took place at the Little Cottonwood 14th Ward Chapel.
