Pearl Popplewell, 80, Russell Springs passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.

She was born in Russell County on June 20, 1929 to the late Maude Brown Knight and Levi Knight.

She was preceded in death by her husband Obra Popplewell; a son Greg Popplewell; two sisters Eva Adamson, Opal Furkins; and six brothers Omri Willard, Clifton, Shelby, James and Jessie Knight.

She is survived by four children Lonnie (Brenda) Popplewell of Columbia, KY, LaDonna (Larry) McQueary of Russell Springs, Jo Retta (John) Whitaker of London, KY, and Mike (Deborah) Popplewell of Russell Springs; one sister Adene Garrison of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Popplewell was a Homemaker and member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church with burial in Russell Springs Cemetery. Special music was provided by the church choir.
Clergies officiating were Bro. Randy Brown and Bro. David Coffey.

Pallbearers were Wendell Knight, Waldo Emerson, Ricky Adamson, Leon Murrell, Randy McFall, and John McFall.

Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church Building Fund.
