Jonathan Luter was a resident of Smith County, Texas since 1845. He served as both county tax assessor and as a Texas State Legislator for the county. He was a Captain during the Civil War in the Confederate Army Co. D 15th Reg. Texas Infantry. He was married to Mary Ann Worrell and they had 7 children.Married Mary Ann Worrell Jan 7, 1841 in Coosa County, Alabama. Moved to Texas in 1845.
