Sgt. Herridge was serving his fifth enlistment in the U. S. Army and had served six years at Manila. He served his first enlistment in the Army of Occupation shortly after the close of World War 1 and served four enlistments in the Army Air Force. for several months prior to the fall of Corregidor, he had served as an aviation mechanic at Nichols field near Manila.
In the message received from the war department last week, it was stated that a letter would follow containing more detailed information concerning Sergeant Herridge's death.
