NOTE: I think his correct name is Benton Wilson Beall, and only the Navy listed him as Bentone. Otherwise the parents and home town match up.

Service Number 3363937

His MIA status, died in combat suggests his actual death date was not Dec 1945 as the war was over. His real date of death may have been much earlier with Dec 1945 as a "fill in date"

There is a cenotaph for MM@c US Navy Benton Wilson Beall in his hometown st Memorial ID 27090939 in Hazelhurst Baptist Cemetery , Hazlehurst, Copiah County, Mississippi, here his dates are Birth 3 Mar 1904 . Death 1 Mar 1942

Before the was he was on the USS Isabel PY-10 in China. The Isabel was at Cavite Bay in the Philippines when the Japanese invaded . She escorted US submarines through the minefields of Corregidor. She escorted ships to the Far east, and was ordered from Java to Australia in Feb 1942. Bentone is on the muster rolls as the ship departed Java. ( I am not able to find out where he was after that I think his real date of death is March 1942 as indicated in records for Benton, not Bentone Beall) ). The Isabel remained in Australia for the duration of the war, training other ships.

His mother was Mrs. Pearl Armstrong , Hazelhurst Mississippi. His father was Everett Beall

In June 18th 1932 in Almeda , California he married Virgil (sic) Clark.
