LAKELAND - Mr. Benjamin Franklin, Sr. of Lakeland died Friday (July 14, 2000) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 80.
Born in Tallahassee, he came to Lakeland from Mulberry 51 years ago. He was a retired dry rock operator for IMC-Agrico Chemical of 48 years. He was a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church in Medulla, where he was a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Lee Franklin. he is survived by his daughters, Celestine F. Richardson and Emma Jean Franklin, both of Lakeland; sons Elmer Franklin, Richmond, Calif., and Benjamin Franklin Jr., Lakeland; brother Arthur Franklin, Mansville, La., five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Oldham Funeral Home, Lakeland. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive M.B. Church, Medulla.
