Dorothy F. Evans, 66, of Benton, died July 11, 2007 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Ms. Evans was a member of Melrose Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Gordon Evans, and her father, Ernest B. Foster. Surviving Mrs. Evans is her mother, Myrtle Foster; her sister, Linda Walters; a daughter, Vicky Cox; a son, Richard Gordon Evans; three brothers, Ernest Foster, Raymond Foster, and Larry C. Foster of Bolton; and two grandchildren, Amanda Cox and William Cole Evans. Services were held July 14 at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Burial followed the services at Melrose Cemetery. Services were also entrusted to Stricklin-King Funeral Home. Pallbearers were John Stewart, Roy Foster, Daryl Eldridge, Michael Foster, Jason Foster and Walker Smith. Published in Yazoo Herald on July 28, 2007.
