Mrs. Caroline Henderlong, wife of Michael Henderlong, at 133 North East Stree, died suddenly at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in her home following a heart attack suffered shortly after partaking of her noonday lunch. Before the attack she was, apparently, enjoying her usual good health. Her sudden death, therefore, was a severe shock to her family members and friends.
Born in Valparaiso as Caroline Gast, she was 64 years old and had been a resident of this city for 40 years, coming to Crown Point a few years after her marriage to Mr. Henderlong, one of the organizers of the Henderlong Lumber Co., who has long since retired.
Mrs. Henderlong is survived by her husband, a son, Fred Henderlong: four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Kauhl, Detroit, Michigan: Mrs. Irene Scholl, North Judson; Mrs. Frances Quinn, Gary; Mrs. Magdeline DeCrow, Crown Point, together with 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters residing in Valparaiso and Hammond.
