Even tho' I have three other girl cats that had been with me longer, Chi Chi made herself stand out. She came running to me when those times came when I was sick, recovering from surgery twice, or just plain aching. She'd bash her head into me as if to say, 'It's alright Mommy, I'm here now.' She was so empathetic.
On July 25, 2010, I rushed her to the vet because she was drooling like a bulldog, and just wasn't acting right. An equipment problem had me picking her up and driving her to a second vet office, nearly 30 miles away. Sedation and an exam the next day found a growth in her mouth, specifically her tongue. It was biopsied and it was cancer...how I hate this word!
Chi Chi declined and struggled until I finally decided neither she nor I could face another day and I made the heart-wrenching decision to put her to sleep on August 13th, 2010.
My furry alarm clock is no more, but her memory will live furever in my heart.
