Bertha Hawley, 82, of 548 W. Spring, died 11:20 p.m. Monday in St. Rita's Hospital after an extended illness.
Born May 24, 1889, in Rocky Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Jones Sanford.
Her husband, Alexander J. Hawley, died April 23, 1949.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its WSCS. She also was a member of the Golden Age Club and of Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by one son, Wayne E. Hawley of 651 Runyan; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Jean) Neumann of Chesaning, Mich., and Mrs. Jack (Doris) Miller of Wapakoneta; one sister, Mrs. Vera Brown of Franklin, Pa.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Chiles and Son-Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, Rev. Leonard Mann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
