Carl Emmett Beaty was born on April 1, 1933 in Paton, Iowa to George and Mildred Beaty.
Carl was a true hero at a time when heroes are at a premium. He gave of his time, talent, and resources freely and didn't know how to use the word no. Many knew him as the class clown, the life of the party, or even Carly the Clown. Carl was a very social person and was heavily involved in his church, neighborhood, and his beloved family.
Carl was always helping a friend with a project, singing in the choir, fixing something at the golf course, or serving on one board or another. He served as a great role model for his kids by living a life as a servant and loving everyone equally.
As a young man Carl was a dedicated provider but, when his kids were involved, he seldom missed sporting event or school activity. He was a disciplinarian but was a compassionate teacher to his children.
Besides the love of his life, Marlene, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his grand children were the most important things in his world. He loved to fish and camp and often shared that love with his grand children.
I think I speak for many of you who are viewing this online memorial when I say that Carl was a very rare man and the type of person we would like to pattern our own lives after. Carl will be missed greatly but the lessons of life that he taught us by his everyday living will impact us all and remain in our memories forever.
Carl loved the game of golf and I believe the good Lord has corrected his slice and promoted him to the position of Head Greens Keeper on one of the nicest golf courses in Heaven. I'm going to miss my dad more than I have the ability to express and I look forward to the day when I can tee it up with him in Heaven.
Mr. Beaty passed away at the age of 75 of lung cancer.
