Elizabeth Herbert Kelly is the mother of Brigadier General John Herbert Kelly, called, "Boy General of the Confederacy." He was the youngest general in the Confederate Army at that time. She was married to Isham Harrison Kelly, sometimes know as John Harrison Kelly. He was a successful attorney in Carrollton, Alabama until his early death in Cuba. Both parents died within two years of each other. Their 2 small sons [Rollin Herbert Kelly and Brigadier General John Herbert Kelly] were five and six years old when they became orphaned and raised by their Grandmother, Harriet Herbert.
