Surviving are his wife, Ann McDermott; two sons, William D. and Somers E. McDermott; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Watts. Decedent was a member of Stephenson post No. 30, G. A. R. He was a Civil war veteran, having served in the Tenth Illinois cavalry. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 12-8-1923

Son of John B. and Wilhemina Steelman McDermott of New Jersey. He was a retired constable.
