Loving and devoted husband of Rosalie (Roz), his wife of over 58 years; beloved father of Thomas (Melissa) Diez, and Denise (Jerry) Capri, and loving grandfather of six.

He was born, a U.S. citizen, in La Linea de la Conception, Spain. He was an honorably-discharged veteran, having served as a Corporal in the United States Army's 398th Engineer General Service Regiment in the European Theater of Operations during the Second World War which arrived in Luxembourg on December 23, 1943, 8 days after the start of the Battle of the Bulge.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982.

Anthony was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: Maria and Angel Diez (Lopez), and his two sisters, Josephine Diez Chiarella, and Rose Diez Rich.

The family received friends on Monday, July 12, 2010, from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, July 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Curlew Hills Funeral Home, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. A Mass of the Resurrection was offered on Wednesday, July 14, 1010, at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. Entombment followed at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens. Curlew Hills Funeral Home 727-789-2000
