BOGATA — Lizzie Lee Legate, 93, of Bogata died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, in East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the Bogata Church of Christ with John Mullin officiating. Burial is to be in the Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
The family receives friends one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born March 19, 1917, in Red River County, the daughter of Claude and Necia Smith Morgan. She married Woodrow Legate Feb. 17, 1940, in Bogata. He preceded her in death Jan. 30, 1989. She and her husband both retired from Paris Junior College where they worked in the maintenance department. She also worked some in the dietary department. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Leonard, Clifford, D.M. and Edward "Shorty" Morgan; and two sisters, Claudia Reynolds and Iris Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Legate and wife, Peggy, of Point and Galen Legate and wife, Kay, of Bogata; three grandchildren, Chad Legate of Talco, Gayla Francis of Deport and Steven Legate of Lewisville; a number of great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Smith of Paris.
Pallbearers are Steven and Chad Legate, Joey and Josey Francis and John and Blake Wantland.
