Died 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 1987, at his residence in Galvez.
He was 60, and a native of Galvez. He was a carpenter with Local No. 1098, Baton Rouge. Visiting at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Galvez, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, and 8 a.m. to religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Walter McNutt. Burial in church cemetery.
Survived by wife, Patty Davis Roddy, Galvez; three daughters, Evon Broussard and Norma Jean Roddy, both of Galvez, and Patty Stanfield,
Prairieville; five step-daughters, Ivie Lambert, French Settlement, Lisa Green and Angel Andrews, both of Denham Springs, Sandra Carter, Galvez, and Linda Warner, Mandeville; a son, Richard "Bull" Roddy III, Duplessis; three step-sons, Dennis Morgan, French Settlement, Nathan Morgan, Walker,and Hank Barbor, Violet; five sisters, Bert Roddy, Gonzales, Regina Gore, Chanelview, Texas, Mary Martha Cleveland, Lucille Cedotal and Winnie Coates, all of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Bobby Ray Roddy, Prairieville, Roy Roddy, French Settlement, Sidney Roddy, Gramercy, and John T. Roddy, Galvez; 31 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Richard Roddy Sr. and Ida Cambre Roddy; a step-daughter, Stella Wunstal; and four brothers, Henry "Buckshot", William, Jessie and Mithcell Roddy. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Galvez.
