BARRY COUNTY ADVERTISER, Wednesday, January 14, 1970:
JIM LONG
Jim Long, 85, of Cassville, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Hospital where he had been a patient for one day.
Born February 22, 1884, in Barry County, Mr. Long was a retired farmer. He was married to Lucille Elizabeth Metcalf in December 7, 1904 in Cassville.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Effie Kelly of Lincoln, Ill., Mrs. Grace Harris of Joplin, and Mrs. Loraine Erwin of Washburn; two sons, Cecil Long of Neosho and Rev. Arnold Long of Bartlesville, Okla.; one brother, Willie Long of Laramie, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Maymie Ridenour of Stella, and Mrs. Fronia Hall, Tracy, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Culver Chapel in Cassville, with burial in the Maplewood Cemetery at Exeter under the direction of Culver Funeral Home.
