Sherri Herring Gillette, 44, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Tash as celebrant. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rhineland.

Sherri was born May 9, 1966, in Knox City to Dwayne and Margaret Herring. She graduated from Amarillo High School and received her pharmacy degree from Southwest Oklahoma State School of Pharmacy.

Everyone who knew her remembers that she was a hard worker, constantly in motion. Her favorite times were athletic events with her children at Bushland School.

Sherri enjoyed jogging, snow skiing, long walks, swimming and listening to Christian music. She was owner of the A. Herring Insurance Agency.

The family is especially grateful to her special friends and neighbors at Bushland, and her colleagues at her agency who have supported and encouraged her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeremy; her paternal grandfather, Clarence Herring; and her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Marie Knezek.

Survivors include three daughters, Reagan, Chrissie and Emma, all of Amarillo; a son, Brian Gillette of Amarillo; two sisters, Jennifer Carrillo and husband Gerald of Flower Mound and Megan Crawford and husband Ryan of Amarillo; a brother, Randy Herring and wife Elizabeth of Dalhart; her parents, Dwayne and Margaret Herring of Amarillo; her grandmother, Clara Herring of Rhineland; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Sherri Gillette Children's Education Fund, in care of Amarillo National Bank, P.O. Box 1, Amarillo, TX 79105, or call 806-378-8000 for more information.
