Wallace "Skin" Huitt was the son of Mike Wesley Huitt and Ollie Minnie Dye. He lived in the Fort Gibson area all of his life. He retired from Arkhola Sand and Gravel Company.

His siblings include: Fred O. Huitt, Henry Huitt, W.R. "Dick" Huitt, Maude Huitt White, Myrtle Huitt Bowden, Beatrice Huitt Hendricks, Nancy Huitt Robertson Marks, Mae Huitt Dawes, Jacqueline Huitt Stills Cottingham.

He married Ruth Carman Huitt in Ft. Smith, AR, on Feb. ll, 1950. They had two children: Larry Wallace Huitt, and Kay Huitt Cawvey.
