Civil War Union Army Soldier. Served during the Civil War as a Corporal in Company I, 11th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg.

On the 2nd August last, at Gettysburg, from wounds received at battle at that place, Colin Shaw, fifth son of Mr. Donald Shaw, Elliot River, in the 30th year of his age.
