The Tattnall County native was born November 11, 1930, and lived mst of her life in Evans County. She was a member of Bull Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She attended Georgia Southern College and worked for a number of years in the Evans County Tax Commissioners Office and as a substitute teacher for Evans County Elementary School.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and aunt..
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Grady and Cyril Odom and Cubie Odom Kicklighter.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Odell Rogers of Claxton; three daughters and sons in law, Joy and Tom Pinckard, and Janet Byrd, all of Claxton and Jill and Jim Pittman of Metter, one sister, Linda Cuellar of Springfield; grandchildren, Becky and Josh Havener of Griffithville, AR, Jordan and James Pittman of Metter. Casey and Deidre Pinckard of Claxton and Tuesday Byrd of Claxton; great-grandchildren, Halie Havener of Griffithville, AR and Dawson Pinckard of Claxton; two sisters-in-law, Jean Odom and Christine Odom of Glennville; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Louise Fields of Claxton and Donald Rogers if San Francisco, CA; special caregiver and friend, Amy Jones of Claxton and seversl nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jimmie Haire and Reverend Harold Smith officiating. Burial followed in Bull Creek Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Jill Griffin and the staff of Northspring Assisted Living and the Directors of the Evans County Wildlife Club.
