Joseph Buskirk was born at Chestnut Hill, Northampton Co., Pa., Jan. 12, 1811, and died at Penfield Pa., Sept. 19, 1890, in his 80th year, from the effects of the Grippe. His life was spent in the Lehigh River region and for more than 30 years past in this region. Joseph was married 16 years ago to Ann Evans who still survives with the following children: Lizzie, wife of Martin Wickett, Thomas, Charles, Jacob, Abbie, wife of Barney J. Black, Gaylord, Bertha, wife of K. Adams. Esther died of diptheria years ago.

Joseph Buskirk was an honest industrious man, who by hard work earned his living and reared his family. After the death of his daughter Esther he joined the Presbyterian church and in his last days was comforted by religion.

The funeral in the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon was very largely attended. Rev. J.J. Rankin conducting the services and Thos. B. Buoy director. The interment was in Bundy cemetery.
