Elizabeth "Libby" Leigh Greene, was born in Monroe, LA on December 24th, 1934 to William Edmund and Cynthia Leigh. She died at age 75 in Richardson, TX on Friday, August 27th, 2010.

Libby graduated in 1953 from Neville High School in Monroe, LA and in 1957 from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. In 1968 she received a Master's degree in Education from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. For more than 40 years she taught school in Pensacola, FL; Venezuela; Puerto Rico; Washington D.C.; and Richardson, TX. She was the first licensed woman pilot to fly solo off Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. She traveled extensively throughout all of South America and the Caribbean. She enjoyed entertaining and was a well-known cook and caterer. She was a very generous and loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She touched the lives of many people and overcame many health adversities.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Barclay A. Greene, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Beth Peterson and husband Mark of Richardson, TX and their sons Logan and Jesse; her son Christopher Greene of Atlanta, GA; her brother Ben Leigh and wife Helen of Baton Rouge, LA and their children and grandchildren; her sister Cynthia Leigh and husband Ishmael Soto of Austin, TX and their daughter Leigh; and her dance partner in life John Coxhead of Warwick, NY.

Visitation was held at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas on Monday, August 30th from 6 to 8 pm. Services were held at the Church of the Epiphany, 421 Custer Road in Richardson, TX on Wednesday, August 31st at 3 pm. Burial took place in Monroe, LA at Riverview Cemetery on South Grand in Monroe, LA on Wednesday, September 1st at 1 pm.
