Nicholas D. L. Haas, 82, retired clerk of the Reading Railroad Co., and an active church worker all his life, died last night at his home, 1148 Spring St., Reading. Born in Topton, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Haas. During his employment as a Reading Railroad clerk, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. He was a member of St. Thomas Reformed Church, Reading, where he was a former consistory member, a member of the Men's League, and a Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years. Surviving are two children, Susan E., wife of Harry Forred, at home, and Nicholas T., Reading; two grandchildren; one brother, Reuben Haas of Topton. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the DeLong and Trexler Funeral Home, Topton.
