Alex Urtuzuastegui, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010. He was born June 11, 1943 in Yuma.
"If ever a man was loved by a woman, Alex was loved by Sharon wholeheartedly"
A lifelong Yuma resident, he grew up in Somerton, graduated from Yuma High School in 1961 and graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College. In a twist of fate he moved back to Yuma in the 60's and made his career managing Charles and Frank alongside his father for decades. A compassionate man with a huge heart and an uncanny talent in the clothing business, he was passionate about many things in his life and was never afraid to show that side.
Alex is survived by his soul mate, Sharon; son, Brion; daughter, Alexis; mother, Josephine; brothers, Charles (Lonee) and Robert (Rosa); grandchildren, Will, Molly, and Jack; and his "kids", Max and Isabella.
Alex was preceded in death by his father and hero, Charles.
When trying to handle the devastating fact that Alex had passed, Lisa phrased it best when she said "He is beginning his re-birth" and we believe and embrace the fact his world is now free of pain. "You will be missed Alex by anyone that had the pleasure to know you and our lives have been enriched by you."
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel, 795 W. 28th St.
Honorary pallbearers include Raymond Ruiz, George Gallagher, and "The Pards", Ron Eriksen, Jeffrey Fritz, Bill Kaybury, Art Blohm, and Russell Byrd.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Yuma.
