1900 census for Applegate Jackson OR shows son Fred and wife Nora married in 1888, but there is a 12 year old boy named John Kleinhammer living with them who was born in 1888 and he is listed as a brother to Fred. If he is Fred's brother, then he would have been a son of Claus and Frances, but isn't listed with their other children.

1920 census for Ashland, Jackson, OR shows granddaughters Esther (18) and Doris (17) living with Catharine Van Dyke who is age 52 and widowed. She is their aunt because they are daughters of son Arthur.
