Leticia (Letta) Harris was born on April 27, 1832, in Hagerstown, Indiana, the daughter of Quakers, Pleasant P Harris and Hannah (Massey) Harris.
When Lettie was still a young child, her family moved from Indiana to Johnson County in Iowa Territory.
She married Jacob Alfred Fry in Frytown, Iowa on October 14, 1846. They had seven children during their marriage: Mary, Emma, Albert, Ella, Maggie, Jacob and Forest.
Letta died on January 13, 1904, in Kalona, Iowa, at the age of 71.
