Pallbearers were Joe DeSaye, Walter Fouts, Clarence Harmon, Virgil Price, Wellen Jones and Lyle James. Serving as honorary pall bearers were Art Jones, Ingvald Rude, Ole Nesheim, Tom Stirling, Roy Fouts and Aben Cederberg. Interment was in the Wing Cemetery.
Albert Carter of Polson, passed away at a hospital November 15, 1961 at the age of 71 years 9 months and 6 days after a lingering illness
Albert Carter, son of John and Helen Carter was born Feb. 9, 1890, at Minneapolis, Minn. He was orphaned at an early age, at which tme he made his home with an aunt and uncle of Faribault, Minn.
In 1910 Albert and his brother Bill homesteaded at Crystal Lake, N. Dak. Later they moved to Canada and then returned to the United States to locate on a homestead north of Turner.
Mr. Carter was a veteran of World War 1 having served 22 months of active duty over seas. After his discharge from the army he returned to his homestead in Turner.
In 1923 he was united in marriage to Minnie Statelen of Turner, and to this union was born a son, Gordon.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter lived on a farm west of Turner for 35 years. He belonged to the Legion Veterans of World War 1 and was an active member of the Turner Lutheran Church.
In 1958 they moved to Polson where they have since resided.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Minnie, a son and daughter-in-law Gordon and Ruth, three grandchildren, Eleanor Lee, Larry and Terry of Ronan, Mont, two brothers, Bill of Crane Valley, Sask. Canada, and Peter of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, numerous nieces, nephews and relatives and a host of friends.
