Until his illness, he was employed at the Truesdale Colliery, Glen Alden Coal Company. He was a member of the Transfiguration Church, Nanticoke, and was active in its societies.
Surviving are his widow, the former Pearl Petrochko, and these children, John Bridgeport, Conn.;Pvt. Michael, overseas with the U.S. Army; Mrs Marie Cornell, Helen, Stephen, and Paul, all at home; and Mrs Joseph Turchin, Breslau; four grandchildren and several brothers and sisters in Europe.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from 55 Diamond Street, Hanover Township, followed by a requiem mass in Holy Transfiguration Church Nanticoke. Celebrant was Rev. Michael Olexieu.
Interment was in Alden Cemetary.
Bearers were Andrew Kashmere, Stanley Ropel, Walter Lubinski, Joseph Varshol, John Babie, and Sam (Sila) Konsevitch.
Flowers were carried by Nicholas Jabyac, Jr., Nicholas Petrochko, Selar Konsevitch, Edward and Leonard Urewich.
