MOERMOND-Mrs. Mattie Moermond, aged 74, passed away early Sunday morning at her home, 2040 Galewood Ave, SW. Surviving are her husband Jacob, one son, Jacob Jr, three grandchildrend Joe Peska, Mrs. Florence Atchinson and S. Sgt Louis Peska stationed in Orlando, Fla., four great grandchildren and one brother, John Helder of Spring Lake. Mrs. Moremond reposes at the Joldersma and Son Funeral Home, 832 Grandville Ave., SW, where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. N. Rozeboom officiating. Burial in Wyoming Township Cemetery.

DROWNS IN CISTERN
Mrs. Mattie Moermond, 74, of 2040 Galewood Dr., SW., was drowned early Sunday in a cistern at her home.
Her husband Jacob discovered her missing from her bed at 1:55 am Sunday. The husband told Wyoming Park police he followed her tracks in the snow to the cistern.
Wyoming police and firemen pulled her from the cistern, but attempts at artificial respiration failed. Dr. Paul W. Bloxsom, Kent County coroner said she evidently took her own life.
Mrs. Moermond leaves her husband; a son, Jacob Jr.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a brother John Helder of Spring Lake.
