MRS. C.W. GRIFFIN, LONG A RESIDENT OF COUNTY, DIES

Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin, 77, member of a pioneer Tehama County family, died early today at her home, 743 Jefferson Street. She had been ill for more than three years.

Mrs. Griffin was born April 21, 1868, at Paskenta, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Whitlock, who had located in that district in an early day. Most of Mrs. Griffin's life was spent in Tehama County.

Fifty-seven years ago she was married to Charles W. Griffin, who survives her. He is a widely known rancher and stockman, having owned property for many at Paskenta and also in the Bend district. About three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Griffin moved to this city to make their home during the winter, spending the summer months at their home in the coast range mountains.

Three children born to Mr. and Mrs. Griffin ar I. W. Griffin, Red Bluff; Delwin Griffin of Anderson, Shasta County and Mrs. Glenora Bigelow of Walnut Creek. She is also survived by three brothers, Harry Whotlock of Stockton; Frank Whitlock recently of Chico and now of Paskenta and Fred Whitlock, also of Paskenta.

Funeral arrangements will be completed by Hoyt's Funeral Home upon arrival here of the daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bigelow.
