James McCoy, Civil War veteran, died at 8:15 o'clock Monday morning, in the Soldiers' Home hospital. He was 86 years old, and a was a native of Ireland. The body will be shipped to Litchfield, Illinois, Monday afternoon, for burial.

He first enlisted in Company E, 4th Illinois Cavalry, but was transferred to service in the Western gunboat flotilla of the U. S. Navy.

A friend, John M. Carroll, lives at Litchfield, Illinois.
