Velma G. Anderson Parsons, 93 of Belpre, Ohio went to be with the Lord and her family on September 7, 2010. She was born in Roane County, WV on May 14, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Herbert D. and Nellie G. Cain Anderson.

She was a member of the Belpre Heights United Methodist Church. She retired from Sears Company, and volunteered for the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital for 16 years. She was a very proud lady and was a caregiver for her family including her parents and her sister and will be greatly missed by all. She was also an avid quilter.

Survivors include her two sons, Maurice B. (Delores) Parsons of Delaware, Ohio, Merle Parsons of Tuppers Plains, Ohio, four grandchildren, Jeff Parsons, Mark Parsons, Shari McDerment, Greg Parsons, her step granddaughter, Dora d'Amato, four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Kenneth Anderson of Millersburg, Ohio, two sisters Geneva Polin and Jaunita Winter both of Millersburg, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Burns E. Parsons, four brothers and two sisters.

Services will be on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Reverend Paul McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 till 5:00 PM.
