Mr. Starkey was retired from Starkey Construction, and worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed visiting Perry County, "God's Country," as he called it.
Survivors are his wife of forty-four years, Martha A. (Milam) Starkey of Conway; children, Richard Meriweather and wife of Conway; David Starkey and wife Sherry of Austin, AR; Patricia Smith and husband Larry of Little Rock; Mary Jane Hawley and husband Michael of Ruston, LA; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; Brothers, Verlon Starkey, Truman Starkey; sisters, Dorothy Herzer and Evelyn Jane Burnett.
Services Sunday September 12, 2010 at Roller-McNutt chapel, Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, with DR. Michael Hawley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers Ed Burnett, Robert Burnett, James Meriweather, John Meriweather, Jeff Meriweather, and Kenny Starkey. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews.
