LAID TO REST

Russell Jones, Routt County Pioneer, Brought Here for Burial.

(From Tuesday s Daily.)

The remains of Russell Jones were laid to rest in the Steamboat cemetery this afternoon, the services being conducted by the local Masonic lodge, of which deceased was a member. The ceremonies wore the beautiful ones of the order, and were witnessed by scores of friends of the dead man, many of whom came long distances to to pay this last token of regard to their departed friend.

A beautiful song was rendered by a choir at the undertaking parlors and the march to the cemetery was begun. The pallbearers were L. B. Crawford, J. N. McWilliams, D. W. Whipple, M. E. Houston, Hugh Monson and F. A. Metcalf.

The body arrived in Steamboat on last night's train, being accompanied by Mlss Nora Jones and Harry Jones, sister and brother of the deceased.

The Jones family were pioneers in Twentymile park. The father and mother died here several years ago. About two yours ago the boys moved to Idaho, and Miss Nora followed them last fall.

The death of Russell was the result of an accident. He was riding after horses in an enclosure and in going under a shed his head struck a beam of the roof, doubling him back and probably injuring his spine. He was 40 years and 10 months old and had scores of friends throughout Routt county.
