Son of Amos Bennett, Sr. & Sarah Hamblin

At one time his middle name was listed as James. There is no proof in a record that his name was in fact Benjamin James Bennett. On the 1870 Whitley County, KY Census Record the name is picked up as Benjamin Bennet by the transcriber but when you look at the record, it looks like Ben James. I am also guilty of listing his name as Benjamin James and I will go back and correct my records as I find them unless I find another record that shows James clearly. On down the page on the 1870 census record there is a John and Obedience Bennett's son Benjamin written the same way. I think that the census taker just capitalized the J and the jamin looks like James. Source; Janet Bennett Foster
