Mrs. Augusta Simonson, 81, of Ericson, died Tuesday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucille Beighley, in Lincoln. Funeral services are to be held at Palmer this (Thursday) afternoon and burial made in the Palmer cemetery beside the body of her husband, Louis Simonson, who passed away several years ago. The latter was a brother of Simon Simonson who passed away here two years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Simonson formerly lived 8 miles southwest of Palmer and moved to Burwell 30 years ago, later moving to Ericson. L. J. Walthers, one of the proprietors of the Waltham Theatre, is a grandson.

Mrs. Augusta Simonson, daughter of Uler and Emma Tackelson, was born at Greenview, Illinois, May 12, 1855, and departed from this earth at Lincoln, Nebr., on February 2, 1937 at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 20 days.

She with her husband came to Nebraska in the year 1871, and for many years lived in Merrick county, south of Palmer.

Later she resided at Hazard and Burwell. About 20 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Simonson purchased a farm on the Dry Cedar near Ericson and after a number of years moved to Ericson which has been her home since.

For many years she has been a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Ericson, where she has resided for the past 20 years.

Her husband, Mr. Lewis Simonson preceded her in death at their home in Ericson, in the year 1929.

Surviving her are: one sister in Greenview, Ill., Mrs. Charles Lockhart, three daughters, Mrs. Therman N. Windfield of York, Mrs. O. J. Walthers of Ericson, and Mrs. Lucille Beighley of Lincoln. In addition, there are 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in the Methodist church at Palmer, Nebraska, Thursday February 4, 1937 at 2 p.m. Rev. Leo W. Hamilton of Ericson, M. E. Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. F. A. Napier of Palmer, Interment was made in the Palmer cemetery.
