Mrs. O. J. Walthers of Ericson, Dies, - Buried at Palmer -

A former Palmer resident, Mrs. Anna Katherine Walthers, 76, of Ericson died last Saturday in the St. Paul Hospital.

Mrs. Walthers was born Aug. 17, 1883 at Springfield, Ill., to Louis and Augusta Simonsen. She and O. J. Walthers were married April 5, 1905 at Palmer. Following their marriage they farmed in Merrick County, then lived for a time at Hazard. For the past 40 years, they had made their home at Ericson where Mr. Walthers operates the Ericson Livestock Market. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Leonard of Ericson; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Asmussen and Mrs. Myrna Hargitt, both of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Beighly, Lincoln, and Mrs. Emma Windfield, York; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Walthers was a cousin of the Simonson brothers, Andrew, S. K. Thorval and Onen, of this locality.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ericson Methodist Church and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Palmer.
