Anderson - LaVera J. (Young) Bubenzer, 89, Anderson, passed away August 5, 2010 at Community Northview, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born July 11, 1921 in Cannelton, Indiana, and resided in Anderson since 1946
LaVera was a homemaker, Anderson High School cafeteria worker and worked at G.E. during war years.
She was a member of Madison Park Church of God, was a girl scout leader and enjoyed square dancing, gardening and camping. Family was very dear to her. One of her services to God was to do one anonymous good deed a day for someone.
She is survived by her husband whom she married November 1, 1942, Gus E. Bubenzer; son, Guane (Tara) Bubenzer of Anderson; brother, Arthur Lee Young (Edna Mae) of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Kimberly Walker (Richard), Mike Bubenzer (Cordy), Joy Bubenzer and Kevin Bubenzer; four great grandchildren, Christian Walker, Quinn Walker, Cole Bubenzer and Grant Bubenzer; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura M. (Lupp) & William Young Sr.; brother, William Young Jr.; sister, Katherine Groover, and grandson, Shawn Bubenzer.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 PM on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson.
Services will be Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 2:30 PM, at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Burnett officiating.
Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
