Daniel Hendrickson settled in Monmouth County circa 1700 and was the first Dutch sheriff of the county.

He married Catherine Van Dyke, daughter of Jan Jansen Van Dyck and Teuntje Thijse, before 1696.

In 1693 Daniel Hendrickson resided at Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York; when he is mentioned in a Monmouth County, New Jersey deed.

On 16 May 1698 at East New Jersey, "John Whitlock, late of Middletown, now of Freehold, Monmouth Co., East New Jersey, yeoman, and Mary, his wife, sell to Daniel Hendrickson, of Middletown, afsd., yeoman, for £160, all of the below described land." The description includes 104 acres in Middletown at Strawberry Hill, "now in the occupation of sd. Daniel;" a tract whose boundaries include Jarrett's Brook, Mohoras Brook, Jarrett Wall's land, John Whitlock's land and William Whitlock's land; thirteen acres of meadow at Shoal Harbor; and another nine acre parcel of meadow at Shoal Harbor. Signed John Whitlock, Mary Whitlock (her mark). Acknowledged 26 Jun 1708, John Whitlock, before William Pinhorne, Judge, Supreme Court.

On 2 October 1708 at East New Jersey, "Whereas, Obadiah Bowne, James Hubbard, Gershom Mott, Obadiah Holmes, James Grover, Richard Stout, Daniel Hendricks, James Cox, Joseph Cox, William Lawrence, James Lawrence, Benjamin Lawrence, together with Jarret Wall of the same place (all are of Middletown, Monmouth Co.), bot. of Thomas Cooper, of London, merchant, one-half of a Propriety or one-forty-eighth part of all the land in East New Jersey and 600 acres of land and meadow lying at Barnaget." The above mentioned then "for good considerations, quit claim the above to our fellow purchaser Jarret Wall." Witnesses: John Farmer(?), Wm. Lawrence, Junr., Cornelius Couwenhoven. Signed by all mentioned above. Acknowledged 4 Nov 1708, John Farmer(?) appeared before Peter Sonmans, Queen's Council.

On 16 December 1709 at East New Jersey Richard Hartshorne conveyed to Daniel Hendrickson "Richard Hartshorne, of Middletown Twp., Monmouth Co., East New Jersey, Gent., and his wife Margaret, sell to Daniel Hendricks, John Schank, Jarat Schank, Cornelius Covenhoven and Peter Wecoffe (Wickoff), of Middletown aforesaid, for £500, for all those several tr. of land and meadow at the place called Conescunke within Middletown." (Description of the bounds). "Also, 70 acres of meadow on the west side of Conescunk Meadows." (Description of bounds). Also conveyed are several small pieces of meadow at Conescunk; a tract of land by said Hartshorne's corner; a fourteen acre piece of meadow in Conescunk Meadows; fifteen acres of meadow on Conescunk granted to Hartshorne by Richard Stout; forty acres of meadow on Conescunk granted to Hartshore by Richard Gibbons; six acres of meadow on Conescunk granted to Hartshorne by James Dorsett; and twenty-five acres of meadow granted to Hartshorne by Peter Tilton. Total of 585 acres. Witnesses: Stephen Schank, John Hallerton, Wm. Lawrence, Junr. Signed Richard Hartshorne, Margaret Hartshorne.

On 1 November 1727 John Bowne, Garret Schanck, & Daniel Hendricks, Exec. of will of Obadiah Bowne, late of Middletown, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, Gent., dec'd., sold to Hendrick Hendricks (son of said Daniel Hendrickson), of said place, yeoman. Whereas, Obadiah Bowne left a will, dated 19 Feb 1725/26, for his Exec. to sell his estate, and now his Exec., for £800, sell 300 acres being part of Obadiah Bowne's plantation in Middletown, by Town Run, Bowne's land & by land of Hendrick Hendrickson, Sr., Daniel Hendricks', to Joseph Goldin, Jr.'s formerly of Peter Weycoff's, to Joseph Golding's. The land is bound west by small brook, north by land formerly Walter Wright's, south by Joseph Goldin, Jr. Signed: John Bowne, Gerret Schenck, Daniel Hendrick. Witnesses: Jan Schenck, Roelef Schenck, & Gisbert Vanmatra made his mark. Includes two swords, male pillion and portmantle, 2 pistols, large Bible and 6 smaller books, nippers, tooth drawers, negro Joe (£35), negro lad Peter (£65), negro woman Dinah and child (£50), negro woman Kate (£10), 36 sides leather, 8 cattle hides, horses, mares, colts, stallion, gun, flour at Van Guelder's mill. Also bonds and debts of (a list of numerous persons). He is called "Captain" Daniel Hendricks.
