J D Dukes, Jr.,73, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at his residence. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 30, 2007 at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home. Mr. Dukes, Jr. was born on January 4, 1934 in Talbot County, GA, son of the late J D Dukes, Sr. and Ola Mae Bullock Dukes. He retired from the Jackson State Prison. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed traveling and gardening. He was Pentecostal by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elsie "Dale" R. Langdon Dukes, two sons Jeffery Dewayne Dukes and Gary Stephen Dukes. He is survived by his daughters, Kaylynn Holt of Russellville, AR and Teresa Dukes Guitrau and husband Paul of Denham Springs, LA; two sisters, Jean Smith, Dorothy Smith and husband Charles both of Columbus; one brother, Roy Dukes and wife Linda of Box Springs; Eight Grandchildren; Sixteen Great Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
