Joan Humphrey was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir John Humphrey. She married Lt.-Col. Sir Leslie Trew Burnett, 2nd Bt., son of Sir David Burnett, 1st Bt. and Emily Sleap, on 21 April 1917. She died on 2 June 1994. From 21 April 1917, her married name became Burnett.
