Joseph S. Edmondson, aged 74, of Parkersburg, died Sunday afternoon, February 9, at 2:30 o'clock in the St. Joseph's Hospital, following a lingering illness. Born December 19, 1872, near Palestine, he was a son of the late Rev. M. B. Edmondson. He had resided in Parkersburg for the past 32 years, and was engaged in the grocery business the greater part of that time. In early life he joined the Baptist church, and at the time of his death was a senior deacon in the North Parkersburg Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie Vernon Edmondson; two daughters, Miss Dorcas Edmondson, at home, and Mrs. Robert McMillion of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son, Alfred B. Edmondson, of Parkersburg; two brothers, Rev. Robert W. Edmondson of Huntington, and E.D. Edmondson of Parkersburg; one sister, Mrs. Mary Fought, Parkersburg, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the North Parkersburg Baptist church Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Two Run cemetery in Wirt County.
