Mrs. Evaline Coe, wife of James Russell Coe, of Courtney Ridge, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. N. Davis, on the Elizabeth-Palestine Road on Friday, December 7th, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Evaline Edmondson Coe, daughter of the late Rev. M. B. and Almedia Parsons Edmondson, was born February 26, 1854, and departed this life December 7, 1928. In early life she united with the Palestine Bethesda Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to James Russell Coe, October 20, 1870. To this union were born twelve children, all of whom remain to mourn their loss with the exception of Donald Earl who preceded his mother to the Great Beyond. She is also survived by her husband, three brothers, one sister, and twenty-one grandchildren. She was a kind affectionate wife, a loving mother, and always had the interest of her family at heart. The funeral was held from the Palestine Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon with Rev. H.M. Hendricks assisted by Rev. A.F. Monroe, officiating. Interment was made in the Palestine cemetery with undertaker W.M. Pomroy in charge.
