Sergeant Amos was a member of the 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on July 7, 1950. Sergeant Amos was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

MORRIS AMOS BEING RETURNED FOR BURIAL

The body of Sgt. Morris Amos, who was killed in the fighting in Korea, will arrive in Idabel Thursday.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at Philadelphia cemetery, Goodwater, with Rev. David Ludlow officiating.

Arrangements and burial are under direction of Coffey funeral home.

Sgt. Amos was declared missing in action July 7, 1950. and his survivors were notified December 18 of last year that he was dead.

Born in Broken Bow January 3, 1922, Sgt. Amos was a veteran of World War II, having enlisted about two years prior to the war, and he was held prisoner in Germany for six months prior to the end of the war.

Prior to his re-enlistment, he was an employee of the Dierks Lumber company. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

He was discharged in July, 1945, and re-enlisted in July, 1949.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ora Simpson, and Mrs. Marie Hudson, both of Eagletown, and Mrs. Nora McKinney, DeQueen, route 2.
