Her Death at Oswego Yesterday - Funeral To-Morrow Afternoon With Interment at Oakwood.
After several months of illness, patiently born, Miss Olive Belden died at 1:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of A. S. Page in Oswego.
Miss Belden was the daughter of the late Royal Denison Belden and of Olive Belden, and was born at Fabius in this State on November 14, 1835. Since the death of her father at Geddes in 1868 she had made her home in Oswego with her niece, Mrs. Alanson S. Page.
When first stricken with the illness which has resulted in her death Miss Belden was in Syracuse at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. A. C. Belden. About the 1st of January, after an illness of six weeks, she was moved to Oswego, where ever since she has been confined to her bed, and uncomplaining, patient sufferer. Once who has seen much of her illness said yesterday: "The quiet depth of her character never showed with greater force than in these last days as he passed into the Valley, with the bravery which only Christian faith can give."
Miss Belden was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Syracuse and will be mourned by a great company of friends whom she had bound to her by her constant loyalty and faithfulness. She is survived by one brother, Hon. James J. Belden of this city.
The funeral of Miss Belden is appointed to be held at Oswego at 2 o'clock tomorrow (Monday) afternoon, the burial to be at Oakwood in this city. A funeral car for the accommodation of Syracuse friends will leave Syracuse from the Binghamton station at 11:10 o'clock on Monday forenoon; returning will leave Oswego at 3:15 o'clock on Monday afternoon, arriving here at 4:45 o'clock, thence to Oakwood for the interment.
Thereafter, for the convenience of the bereaved friends from Oswego, the special car will return to that city.
