The funeral services of Mrs. Ardelia Walker who died in Coburg today will be held in the Veatch parlors on Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. W. Davis will officiate. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was 88 years old at the time of her death and is survived by five daughters and one son: Mrs. M. Bailey of Yakima, Washington; Mrs. George Warner of Fall Creek, Ore.; Mrs. Charles Baker of Newport, Mrs. Laura Frasier and Mrs. Virgil Rowland of Eugene and Lawrence Walker of Coburg.
She was born March 14, 1836 in St. Charles County, Missouri and left that state in 1850 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Zumwalt who crossed the plains with an ox team. Her parents resided at Salt Lake City for one year. It was at Portland that she took part in the first Fourth of July celebration that was even given in that city. Portland had only a few stores at the time she resided with her parents there.
She came with her parents to Lane County in 1852 and has lived near Eugene ever since. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Methodist Church.
