CLAUDE STEPHENSON
Claude Stephenson was born in Worth County, Missouri near Allendale on April 27, 1911, and passed away at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, three months and 15 days. Claude was a victim of cancer. He was the son of Thomas and Nellie Woollums Stephenson.

On September 23 1939, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Colvin and to this union three daughters were born - Sharon Gayle, Janet Marie and Connie Bernice. In 1943, Claude along with his wife and daughters, moved to Ellston, Iowa, where he continued farming until 1970 when failing health caused him to sell his farm and buy a smaller one near Kellerton. After retiring in 1976, he was delighted in being with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing and visiting with his friends.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jennie Fay, and three brothers, Clarence, Clyde and Roy Stephenson.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Gayle and husband Gary Giles of Urbandale, Iowa, Janet Grose of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Connie and husband Larry Wambold of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandsons, on granddaughter; two step grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one great granddaughter; three granddaughters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.
