John Howell Morden, the second son of pioneer John
Morden of Ameliasburgh, married Mary Mason. Mary Mason’s maternal grandfather was a cousin of Sir Isaac Brock . Brock was mortally wounded during the battle of Queenston Heights in the War of 1812 (118).
